He
I watched a baby bird fall from a cloud
On a day when the sun was out
And there wasn’t but one cloud on the sky
It was cool for a summer day
Dry for early July
And his wings caught fire from the height
Like a symptom caught by a quick remark
And the children saw him from the park
Over the fence like a young star bringing their answer from afar
A mother from the garden saw too
And she dropped her shoes with her mind in two
And the businessmen saw her too
And behind all their austenian glue
A blaze carved the blue
He fell with fervor with all the light he could glean
Dragging the sun on like his lead
And he never did learn to fly
Not neat
But pretty
And for a brief moment, a kairos arrived above my city
Where a phoenix did fly
And he did so perfectly
Like a courtesy
Wildly alive
And carelessly slight
Lost in the lazy strife
Of a wasted life
Happily priced
Where my eyes never lie

After so long !!! Loved this so much 😭
I'm so glad you're back! It's beautiful as always.
